Terms of Service

A short understanding.

Effective · 8 Apr 2026 · Read in five minutes

These terms govern your use of mailconnect, the Fastmail-to-Poke bridge available at mailconnect.app and api.mailconnect.app. They are deliberately short. By connecting your Fastmail account through mailconnect, you agree to them.

The service

mailconnect is a free, hosted Cloudflare Worker that lets the Poke assistant communicate with your Fastmail mailbox over the Model Context Protocol. We act as the OAuth authorization server Poke connects to, and as an OAuth client of Fastmail on your behalf. We do not sell, resell, or rebrand Fastmail or Poke; we are an independent bridge between them.

Eligibility

To use mailconnect you need a Fastmail account you are authorized to access, and a Poke account. You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. By using the service, you confirm that both of those are true.

Acceptable use

Use mailconnect for its stated purpose: letting Poke read your own Fastmail mailbox. Do not use it to:

  • access Fastmail accounts you do not own or do not have explicit authorization to access;
  • circumvent rate limits, abuse the service, or attempt to break or destabilize the bridge;
  • relay traffic, run penetration tests, or perform automated scraping that goes beyond the published MCP tool surface;
  • use the bridge in a way that violates Fastmail’s, Poke’s, or Cloudflare’s own terms.

We may suspend or revoke a grant that we reasonably believe is being used in violation of these rules. We’ll prefer to contact you first when we can.

Your accounts elsewhere

mailconnect does not create or manage your Fastmail or Poke accounts. Your relationship with Fastmail is governed by Fastmail’s terms; your relationship with Poke is governed by Poke’s. If either provider suspends, locks, or terminates your account on their side, mailconnect cannot restore access to that mailbox or assistant — that has to be resolved with the relevant vendor.

Privacy

Our handling of the small amount of data we hold is described in the Privacy Notice. The short version: we hold encrypted Fastmail tokens, your Fastmail username as an identifier, and operational logs. We do not read your mail, sell your data, or run analytics on you.

Service availability

mailconnect is provided on a best-effort basis. We don’t guarantee uptime, latency, durability of any specific grant, or continued availability of any specific MCP tool. The current build is read-only and may change as we expand the tool surface; tools may be added, renamed, or removed.

Note mailconnect is not an enterprise SLA product. If you need contractual uptime guarantees for talking to Fastmail from an automated system, this is not the right tool, and we’ll happily tell you so.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including (but not limited to) merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim them all.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, mailconnect, its operators, and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total cumulative liability arising out of or related to the service is limited to one hundred United States dollars (US$100), reflecting the free, hobby-scale nature of the bridge.

Indemnity

If your use of mailconnect causes us to be held responsible for something — for instance, because you used the service to access an account you weren’t authorized to access — you agree to defend and indemnify us against the resulting claims and costs, to the extent allowed by law.

Termination

You can stop using mailconnect at any time by disconnecting it from Poke or revoking the application inside Fastmail. We can suspend or terminate access to the service, in whole or for a specific grant, where we reasonably believe it’s being misused, where Fastmail or Poke require it, or where we discontinue the service. Termination ends the rights granted by these terms but does not, by itself, undo your choices made before that point.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms occasionally. The current version, with its effective date, will always live at this URL. Material changes that expand your obligations will be described in plain language; continued use after a revision means you accept the updated version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you and we consent to personal jurisdiction there.
